Conventions of ancillary tasks
Secondly are the posters. Many of the promotional posters are often very much the same in terms of layout and follow conventions. As seen in the Daft punk poster below The name of the band/artist is very prominent and at the top of the page, they have their own distinctive font for their name which will probably be the same for their album covers. Album covers and posters for an artist are usually based on each other, depending on what the poster is promoting, for example the poster for Daft punk is for a concert that they were performing so it may not have been based on their album covers. However in this poster features such as the distinctive font and the image, conventionally placed in the middle of the poster, is easily recognizable to the band/artist. The other main features of the promotional posters will be dates, whether it is the date of the concert or the release of the new album, any location/shop or sponsors that the album will be sold by or sponsored by, and conventional colours and themes that the genre of the band will have, for example the pop/R&B genre of Daft punk will include the brighter colours (the pinks, bright reds, blues and yellows) and themes such as the DJ element or other linked images e.g an old music tape.
The lost prophets poster again shows the conventions. Distinctive font for title and title at the top, relevant and theme following image, Information regarding the release dates and locations to buy, other relevant info such as "features rooftops", and colours and themes that apply to the band and genre for example the contrasting black on white and the blood featured are all typical features of the bands genre (metal/rock).
